Brown Tape

The HORSEGUARD 4 cm wide electric tape is designed to be highly visible, conductive, and durable.

When installed and maintained correctly, the tape maintains its effectiveness over the long term. It is constructed using 10 stainless steel wires (each 0.40 mm in diameter), which provide superior conductivity and help prevent cuts caused by friction with insulators or electrical sparks from nearby vegetation. In addition, the tape features 30 x 0.50 mm polyethylene weft yarns, specifically treated to withstand damage from UV rays. The open mesh structure of the tape is intended to reduce the risk of premature warping.

The tape also includes two 1 mm diameter bumpers along its edges to help prevent cuts near insulators. Its colour closely matches carbonyl wood, allowing it to blend naturally into outdoor environments. Horse owners will appreciate that this fence is "non-snackable," straightforward to install, and cost-effective.

With its 4 cm width, the tape is easily seen by horses. In situations where a horse might challenge the fence, its natural instincts generally encourage it to go around rather than attempt to breach such a substantial barrier. This is why the use of two or three runs of tape is recommended. The tape has a breaking strength of 300 kg, usually sufficient for most scenarios, though it is important to exercise extra caution with foals, especially during their initial encounters with the electric fence.

For optimal installation, position post no more than 4 metres apart. In particularly windy areas, post are recommended to be placed as close as 3 metres apart, or even closer if necessary.
